The
official EAA AirVenture Oshkosh 2008 Notice To Airmen (NOTAM) is now
available for download from the EAA
AirVenture website. The easy-to-print PDF document contains the
Special Flight Procedures in effect for Wittman Regional Airport and
alternate airports from 6 a.m. CDT on Friday, July 25, to 11:59 p.m. CDT
Sunday, August 3, 2008. EAA AirVenture Oshkosh runs from July 28-August 3.
If you're flying an aircraft to Oshkosh,
the EAA AirVenture NOTAM is required reading and an important part of your
preflight preparation. The NOTAM outlines all arrival/departure
procedures, radio frequencies, Wittman Regional Airport details and much
more. Although many of the procedures are similar to previous years, there
are updates in nearly every area to enhance safety, efficiency and
convenience.
As you plan your trip you should be thoroughly
familiar with the NOTAM procedures for your aircraft type and your
primary and alternate airports. Pilots are expected to have a copy of this
NOTAM available for in-flight reference.
This is an electronic version of the
32-page printed booklet, which is in the final printing stages by the FAA
and will also soon be available. Pilots can pre-order
the booklet online or by calling 800-JOIN-EAA (800-564-6322).
