Parking/Aircraft
Aircraft parking availability is continually updated during EAA AirVenture
through ATIS information for pilots, via an update phone recording at
920-230-7820, and at the following website: http://www.airventure.org/aircraft/parking_status.asp
Camping rates are charged to aircraft parked
in aircraft camping areas.
No parking fees are charged aircraft parked
in showplane parking (NOT camping), General Aviation Parking near the
Wittman Regional Airport terminal and other specialty areas. However, no
camping or overnight sleeping are allowed in or near aircraft in those
parking areas.
Hard-surface parking is available on the Wittman Regional Airport ramps at
Basler Flight Service (920-236-7827) and Orion Flight Services (920-424-8090
or ARINC 130.52), each available via UNICOM at 122.95. Availability is
limited and fees are charged. Reservations are highly recommended.
Parking/cars and trucks
Parking in EAA lots are for autos, trucks, motorhomes, motorcycles and other motor vehicles. No overnight parking is allowed in EAA auto parking lots.
Payment
For EAA AirVenture admissions, camping, merchandise and other items, the
following are accepted:
Cash, personal checks and Travelers Checks are accepted, as well as the
following credit cards: MasterCard, VISA, American Express, and Discover.
(Auto parking accepts cash only)
Individual exhibitors may have their own
rules on accepted payment methods.
Performers/air show
The daily air show is held each
afternoon beginning at approximately 2:30 p.m. and lasts for about 3½
hours. It features a wide variety of aircraft and performers. The
minute-by-minute schedule of performances is set each day, and is subject to
change without notice. Grass seating is available along the flight line.
Blankets and lawn chairs are allowed; however, they cannot be left
unattended. Individual performers are escorted along the crowd line after
their flights to acknowledge the crowd's appreciation.
Pets
Pets and animals, except for guide/service animals, are not allowed at
AirVenture and prohibited on the flight line at all times. EAA highly
discourages bringing pets into Camp Scholler as well, for the safety of the
animals and other campers.
Pioneer Airport
Located behind the EAA AirVenture Museum. Regular flight operations are
closed during AirVenture. However, helicopter
flights are available during AirVenture week for an extra fee. Pioneer
Airport also hosts the KidVenture
area, and opens its hangars to present several dozen vintage aircraft on
display. Accessible via the Museum shuttle buses from the AirVenture
grounds.
Private Housing
Hundreds of private homes are available to rent during the event, all
within 10 miles of the EAA Convention site. Convenient for families and
groups. Call the Oshkosh Convention and Visitors Bureau's housing hotline at
920-235-3007 to reserve an entire house or a room in someone's home. The Oshkosh
CVB website contains detailed listings and photographs of all available
homes.
Program Book
The AirVenture souvenir program book is available throughout the grounds
during the events, including the Main Gate and all merchandise sales areas. |
