While
EAA AirVenture Oshkosh is officially a one-week event, it’s never too
early to begin planning for next year! EAA staff and volunteers are
already eagerly preparing for AirVenture 2009 on July 27 - August 2 at
Wittman Regional Airport in Oshkosh, Wis.
Online advance ticket availability for
“The World’s Greatest Aviation Celebration” begins November 1,
2008. Getting your tickets online in advance is the most convenient way
to get your AirVenture admission and offers an early-purchase discount.
With your tickets in hand when you arrive at Oshkosh, so you can
immediately begin enjoying the unmatched activities and atmosphere of
EAA AirVenture! (By the way, AirVenture tickets also make a great
holiday gift for aviation enthusiasts you know…)
In 2009, you’ll also begin to see some
of the major site upgrades designed to make your participation in EAA
AirVenture more fun and convenient. We’ll keep updating you on the
upgrades and changes here as they’re taking place.
Already planned for 2009 is a planned
visit by the new WhiteKnightTwo space
transport aircraft; a reunion of those involved in Concorde’s five
visits to Oshkosh in the 1980s and 1990s; and a salute to the
humanitarian work done by aviators around the globe. Special activities
are also planned for several 100 year anniversaries, marking the first
flight in Canada, the first air race, and Louis Bleriot's historic
flight across the English Channel.
In addition, many aircraft type clubs are
already looking forward to their annual mass arrivals and reunions at
Oshkosh, where you can get together with friends with similar interests
at what many people call aviation’s family reunion!
