2009
EXHIBITOR SURVEY!
The
57th Annual EAA AirVenture Oshkosh fly-in, "The World's
Greatest Aviation Celebration", was a huge success this
year, some say our best ever. Hundreds of thousands of EAA
members and aviation enthusiasts enjoyed a week that saw the
best of what aviation had to offer. No matter your interest,
there was something for everyone.
A
significant amount of that success can be attributed to your
efforts as an EAA AirVenture exhibitor. AV2009 was a year of
significant changes to the site - we took care in implementing
the best plan possible as we moved the AirVenture site into a
new era. Whether it was the new exhibit layout, the flushing
toilets, or the improved way-finding, all these changes were
made with the exhibitor and attendee in mind. As with any
significant change, some thing's worked as planned, others did
not. We are committed to continual improvement and would
appreciate your assistance with your comments and suggestions
about this year's show and for improvement for future years.
Prior year's comments have been invaluable as we continue to
improve the AirVenture experience for both exhibitors and
attendees.
We
ask that you take a few minutes to reflect on this year's event
and complete the 2009 Exhibitor survey via our website http://www.airventure.org/exhibitors/Survey.pdf.
As we embark on the planning for EAA AirVenture Oshkosh 2010,
your comments and suggestions will assist us as we continue to
strive to be "The World's Greatest Aviation
Celebration". If you are in need of a hard copy of the
survey to fill out please contact us at exhibits@eaa.org
or call toll-free 800-236-1025.

AIRVENTURE
2010 PARTICIPATION INFORMATION COMING SOON!
For
AirVenture 2010, EAA will be combining our 1st mailing
(Exhibitor's Guide and Application) and 2nd mailing (Exhibitor's
Service Manual) into one mailing called the Exhibitor's Guide.
Combining these two mailings will help companies to budget their
AirVenture participation. Those who have e-mail will receive a
link to the online Exhibitor's Guide. Those who did not provide
EAA with an e-mail address on last year's application will
receive a hard copy of the Exhibitor's Guide. Any company who
received the online version of the Exhibitor's Guide and would
like a hard copy mailed to them will need to contact the EAA
Exhibit office at exhibits@eaa.org
or 800-236-1025.
Your
booth confirmations will be e-mailed in early March. If an
e-mail address is not provided on the 2010 Exhibitor
Application, you will receive your booth confirmation via mail
after March 1.

ALL-NEW
EAA SPORT AVIATION LAUNCHING IN JANUARY
January
2010 brings exciting changes for EAA Sport Aviation. Our
flagship magazine is one of EAA's most important and popular
member benefits. That's why we do extensive member surveying
that gives us a better understanding of what our members expect,
and helps us ensure we're delivering the content they want.
Their input has helped us develop an all-new Sport Aviation
magazine that our entire membership-pilots and enthusiasts,
builders and restorers-will anticipate, engage with, and buy
from.
Here's
how we're doing it. The new Sport Aviation serves the
entire membership with more:
- Extensive
depth and breadth of aviation editorial
- Signature
content with aviation industry guest editorials
- "How
do I" content-for builders and restorers AND pilots and
enthusiasts
- Coverage
of innovation and technology o Member involvement and
participation
- Themed
issues, Flight Tests and Product Reviews
- Connection
to EAA's eNewsletters, web videos, and online community
- EAA
award-winning photography
Our
research also told us many readers feel there is a great deal of
crossover content between Sport Aviation and EAA Sport
Pilot magazines. Therefore a maturing industry and audience
combined with duplicated content has led us to discontinue Sport
Pilot magazine after the December issue. Content from Sport
Pilot will be included in the new Sport Aviation, and
more specific content will make its way into EAA's newest
special interest eNewsletter for sport pilot and ultralight
enthusiasts.
Advertising
rates will not increase from 2009 - AND - each page is 17
percent larger than the previous format. That means you get more
space for your investment in the magazine that has the broadest
editorial content and coverage for recreational aviation today!

AVIATORS
MARKETPLACE - A BIG HIT AT AIRVENTURE
EAA's
Aviators Marketplace made its grand debut at AirVenture 2009,
with several kiosks strategically placed throughout the grounds.
The kiosks, located in the Member Welcome Center and the four
main Exhibit Buildings, were met with an overwhelming response,
providing attendees with an effective tool to find exhibitors
throughout AirVenture grounds, along with the booth number and a
map.
Aviators
Marketplace is a filtered search engine, providing EAA members
and aviation enthusiasts with a robust shopping experience in
finding whatever aviation service, product, or accessory they're
looking for. To preview the web site, log on to www.aviatorsmarketplace.com.
Listing in the directory is free, however, you have an
opportunity to upgrade your listing to a premier level and/or
participate in the "Specials" section of the directory
to increase your visibility to all shoppers.
In
addition, EAA will begin offering the opportunity to showcase
member-only "Deals of the Week" on EAA websites and in
the e-Hotline newsletter that reaches more than 90,000
EAA members every week. This opportunity will be limited. Please
email Elissa Lines or Katrina
Bradshaw if you have questions or would like to talk about
the value of these special opportunities. |
THE
BROWN ARCH - LEAVE YOUR MARK
Since
the EAA fly-in (AirVenture) arrived in Oshkosh in 1970, the
"Brown Arch" has been the gateway to all that existed
in the world of aviation. As Tom Poberezny noted, the
"Brown Arch has been the gateway to countless aviation
dreams and accomplishments…millions of people have walked
under this arch to discover the innovation, imagination, and
craftsmanship" that could be found here in Oshkosh.
AirVenture
2009 brought great changes to Oshkosh, with the expansion of the
grounds to the rededication of the Brown Arch as "The
Gateway to Aviation", but the culture, the camaraderie, the
volunteerism, the impact have remained the same. Why? Because of
you! You have helped us nurture an environment in which
innovation and entrepreneurialism soars, creating a passionate
community, as strong throughout the year in all parts of the
world as it is when we all come back together in Oshkosh.
We
invite you to "leave your mark" permanently in Oshkosh
- to purchase a tribute brick upon which you can inscribe your
own message, or place your company logo. Purchase a full brick
and you may even select the location of your brick! Please visit
the web site at www.airventure.org/arch
for more information and to select and reserve your brick. As
with all EAA opportunities, your commitment may be pledged over
time. Makes a great holiday gift! Feel free to call Elissa Lines
directly (920-426-6101) if you have any questions. |
HARRISON
FORD EDUCATION SCHOLARSHIP CHALLENGE
Newly
established fund established by Jim and Angela Thompson, this
scholarship will enable young people of all backgrounds to apply
for support to help them pursue their aviation interests.
Donations to this fund will be matched by the Thompsons up to
$100,000. It is their hope that EAA members and friends will
support this goal, building a $200,000 scholarship fund in
Harrison Ford's name, honoring his five year commitment and
service as EAA's Young Eagles National Chairman. During his
tenure as national leader of Young Eagles, awareness for the
program soared as nearly 500,000 young people became Young
Eagles.
The
fund will provide assistance to young people seeking to take
their FAA written pilot's exam (after completing EAA's free
online ground school training), take their first formal flying
lesson, attend EAA Air Academy residential aviation camp, secure
support to obtain their sport pilot's license or further their
passion and interest in aviation through tuition support,
enabling them to pursue post secondary education at an
institution of their choice. To add your support to this fund -
impacting the lives of hundreds of youth - log on to www.eaa.org/support/scholarships.asp. |
